The Language of Colour - Painting with Nature in Mind

🌿 The Language of Colour – Painting with Nature in Mind

There’s something magical about how sunlight touches handmade paper.

When the pigments meet the fibres, the colours breathe — they shift, soften, and sometimes surprise you. Each brushstroke feels like a conversation with nature itself.

I love working on these textured, Eco-friendly papers because they never behave in the same way twice. The edges are raw, imperfect, alive. Sometimes the colour sinks in deeply, other times it dances on the surface — and that unpredictability is what keeps me coming back.

Each floral pattern is a small story: of walks in the garden, the scent of rain on leaves, and the memory of wildflowers that refuse to fade. My palette always begins with real petals and plants — I mix shades until they feel “alive”, not just pretty.

These new pieces are part of my ongoing exploration of slow art — a practice rooted in mindfulness and sustainability. Working slowly and intentionally allows the materials to speak. I genuinely believe that every mindful act of creation gives something back — to us, to others, and to the world that inspired it.

Thank you for following along this creative journey.

Stay tuned — more behind-the-scenes stories from my studio are coming soon. 🌸
